Hey everyone, hope the Halloween season is going great for you! Here's a little taste of how it's going for SOAR:
Halls of Horror was a great success! Thank you so much to everyone who showed up during the construction, performance and clean-up of this production- your time and effort were greatly appreciated! Unfortunately, we do not currently have any pictures from this event, but keep checking the IUP SOAR facebook group as well as this blog for pictures from all stages of the program.
Last night was Wallace Hall's Scarey-Oke party sponsored by SOAR. As you can tell from the slide shows, there were a ton of people there. All of the cute foods, amazing decorations and lively (well, some deadly) people made for an awesome Halloween bash.
The karaoke portion of the evening was slow to start, but once Jen and Heather started the night off with a hit from Grease the performances kept on rolling. We heard a powerful performance of "I Could Not Ask For More" performed by Jackie, and Stacie made jaws drop with her performance of "When I Think About Angels". On the lighter side Morgan, Ashley and Kristin teamed up for a Britney Spears classic; Joe unexpectedly performed "The Devil Went Down to Georgia"; Ashley hopped on stage again with Morgan for a Blink 182 song; Ashley solo performed "Everything You Want"; and Kristin and Morgan took the stage again to sing "Can't Fight the Moonlight" from Coyote Ugly.
Be sure to check out the IUP SOAR facebook group for videos from some of the night's performances!
Everyone did a fabulous job and the scores were pretty close, but in the end it was down to three performances.
In third place, Santo took home the Dracula DVD for his performance of "Round The Way Girl"
The Secret Window DVD went to second place winners Kristin and Jackie for their amazingly comical performance of "Ice Ice Baby"
And the last performance of the night was far from the least: Chinyere, Shakita, and Erica drove the crowed wild with their stunning performance of Aretha Franklin's "Respect", winning the American Psycho DVD.
Congratulations to all of the performers-- you did an amazing job.
Thank you to everyone who helped set up & clean up for the party- we couldn't have done it without you!
Have a safe and happy Halloween, everyone!
